I am a retired interior decorative painter. I called this technique a "colorwash". It was always my favorite decorative technique and my clients , as well. I loved it's "old world" look. I always used a soft colowash brush, floetrol , and cheesecloth. ( Just a few helpful tips). Although I am great at "cutting in" around ceilings and trim, I always taped off. It gives you more freedom of movement an a crisper line. It is funny to see how trends go in and out. I did a home at least every week in this technique 20 years ago. I think we will see it resurge. I also love Venetian Plaster.

My grandmother would make me the same crocheted wash cloths, and I would display them until one day she came over and said, " I make these for you to use " I said I know but I just love them so much and I display them because I want to be reminded of you each day. Needless to say, she won the argument, but I wish I hadn't used them.i still have them, but they can no longer be displayed. I really learned so many morals from my grandparents and I miss them all so much. I love watching you because it brings me to a place of peace and remembrance ❤thank you.

I did on mine and was able to score some vintage French copper pots and pans( happy birthday to me!😆). Just be careful- the ones that aren't vintage usually have a laquer coating that has to be removed before using. I was wondering if those crocheted circles were coasters and not make up pads...? Sunlight can degrade things like enzymes, vitamins etc… They won’t be as effective. I love that you’re saving for your grandchildren-to-be. I did the same thing, and it is so much fun!
